Objectives

- Students will accurately identify the parts of a clock using the UDUTU program and on an actual clock.

- Students will be able to correctly tell time to the hour and minute by using an analog clock.

- Students will be able to draw a corresponding time onto a paper analog clock.

- Students will be able to identify the correct times when given a fictitious clock and be able to write the time in numbers.

 Evaluation

An ongoing assessment will be given to the students while they are completing the UDUTU program that was created to help students understand and tell time.  After completion of the UDUTU program to assesses to see if the learning objectives were meet as a whole class there will be a discussion about what they have learned about them both though the UDUTU program and prior knowledge.  A cumulative assignment will also be given to the students after the lesson on times as been completed.  Students will have to create an accurate calendar of the times they do things in a day.  During that day they must write down what time they start and stop everything they do (in reason) and next to the allotted times the students will need to draw an analog clock of the start and stop times.  This performance assessment should show if students have an understanding of the concept of time.  Another possible evaluation may have the students create their own daily school schedule using the same process described above to check accuracy.

In terms of a summative evaluation along with their students cumulative assignment, I will look at how the students have done with understanding time in previous years to see if the UDUTU program was beneficial in the learning process.  I will also have the students complete a summary once they have finished the program to obtain feedback about their thoughts and concerns about the program.  During the program and watching the students use the program I will also be monitoring the students to see if problems occur or where I might be able to visually see where students are struggling during the program.  Having this information will help me as a teacher to better recreate the program or find out more ways where students struggle in terms of this topic.

All learning is important and evaluations need to occur no matter when or where the learning takes place.  It is necessary to make sure the students are learning the information that is being presented.  If the information is not being retained new ways need to taught so the students can be able to comprehend the information presented.
